The 77th annual Cannes Film Festival took place from 14 to 25 May 2024. American filmmaker and actress Greta Gerwig served as jury president for the main competition. French actress Camille Cottin hosted the opening and closing ceremonies.

Here are 15 best-dressed stars, worth remembering:

Bella Hadid in vintage Versace

While the model made her red-carpet comeback in a headline-making sheer Saint Laurent dress, it was her second look that was pure Cannes glamour. Hadid ascended those famous steps wearing a vintage Atelier Versace dress from the spring/summer 2001 collection, which featured a cinched bustier and shimmering palette-covered skirt. She finished the look with Chopard jewelry and a tightly curled updo.

Natasha Poly: Most Strategic!

The model strode confidently down the red carpet in this corseted Mugler dress at the “Emilia Pérez” premiere, covering just enough.

Diane Kruger in Versace

Diane Kruger rarely gets it wrong on the red carpet, so it comes as no surprise that she makes our top 10 for this year. The actress promoted her new movie, The Shrouds, wearing a glistening royal-blue Versace gown with a sculptural neckline. Chopard jewelry provided the perfect finishing touch.

Sienna Miller in Chloé

Sienna Miller made her 2024 Cannes appearance a family affair, walking the red carpet with her boyfriend Oli Green, and her adorable 11-year-old daughter, Marlowe Sturridge. For the occasion, Miller went back to her boho roots, in this floaty semi-sheer Chloé gown, in the softest pale blue.

Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior

There's always one fairy-tale moment at Cannes and this year it came courtesy of Anya Taylor-Joy. The actress has so far been employing some pure princess vibes for the Cannes premiere, in a custom Dior ballgown with a full tulle skirt. She added a deep red lip and sparkling Tiffany & Co jewelry.

Michelle Yeoh in Bottega Veneta

Michelle Yeoh consistently keeps it interesting on the red carpet. At the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga, the actress opted for this strapless leather Bottega Veneta dress with a floor-length shredded skirt. It was unexpectedly excellent.

Cate Blanchett in Jean Paul Gaultier

Cate Blanchett cut an elegant figure at Cannes this year in several chic looks, but our favorite was this strapless color-block design by Jean Paul Gaultier. She added a delicate Louis Vuitton High Jewellery pearl necklace, worn draped across her shoulders.

Selena Gomez in Saint Laurent

Selena Gomez proved that sometimes the simplest looks can be the most impactful, in this black velvet Saint Laurent gown, which featured a cream off-the-shoulder neckline. She added red nails, a glossy updo and a dazzling Bulgari necklace, resulting in a look that was both classic and contemporary.

Lily Gladstone in Balenciaga

As one of this year's jury members, Lily Gladstone had several red-carpet appearances this year – but our favorite look of hers had to be this draping off-the-shoulder Balenciaga gown, in a rich golden-orange hue, styled with Chaumet jewelry. The dress was a reinterpretation of a 1959 Cristobal Balenciaga archive piece; a classic old Hollywood redone in a thoroughly modern way.

Yseult: Most Accessorized!

Chic doesn’t begin to describe the way the French singer-songwriter/model finished off this custom turn of Christian Dior’s “New Look” at the premiere of “Megalopolis.” The icing on the cake: the tilted straw hat, sharp leather gloves, and black kitten heels.

Nicolas Seydoux: Most Caped!

The French producer and executive topped off a black tuxedo with a sleeveless cape embellished with a floral flash of pink that gave a touch of fun, whimsy, and class.

Winnie Harlow: Most Cowgirl!

Tweed, mesh, fringe, pearls, lattice! With this many elements, the model did not disappoint, by taking a trend and making it all her own in this ensemble from Tamara Ralph.

Alton Mason: Most Shoulders, Knees, and Toes!

The actor and model, who made an appearance at the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola’s highly anticipated film, “Megalopolis,” didn’t miss a beat from top to bottom, with this patterned power-shouldered Louis Gabriel Nouchi suit.

Iggy Pop: Most Leather!

The most famous torso in punk rock does not need much to make a statement.

Sebastian Stan: Most Blazer!

A bright yellow Amiri blazer gave the actor, who plays a young Donald Trump in the buzzy film “The Apprentice,” a studied but easy look.
