Senior journalist and Television programme host Hamid Mir says the presence together of two daughters of former prime ministers for the first time in history to share the stage and address PDM’s Multan jalsa has made a very important moment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to 24NewsHD TV channel, Hamir Mir said former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and the late Benazir Bhutto’s daughters will address the rally from the same stage – a sight that could not be imagined until a few years ago.

Hamid Mir said it should be worth mentioning that both the former prime ministers have been strong critics of each other in the past.

“As Assefa Bhutto-Zardari will make her maiden political speech today it is like the launching of her political career. If PDM is able to stage the jalsa in Multan it will be a huge success for the opposition alliance and huge defeat for the government,” he added.

He also said PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif also came out from her home to participate in PDM’s Multan jalsa despite the fact people are coming for the condolences on the sad demise of her grandmother.

Hamid Mir also wrote a column in the Daily Jang newspaper. In his column, a senior journalist and Television program host said, “Like it or not, Multan is going to make history. Today (November 30) is the founding day of the Pakistan People's Party. The party's 54th founding anniversary rally has become a rally of the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

“The government has called for a halt to the rally in the name of the coronavirus spread. If Nawaz Sharif had not been disqualified in various cases, Maryam Nawaz might not have entered politics. Similarly, Assefa Bhutto Zardari took part in the election campaign of her father and brother in the 2018 elections but she stayed away from practical politics,” he wrote.
