PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday went belligerent as she slammed PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan for, what she claimed, inviting new military leadership’s interference in political affairs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a tweet, Imran Khan extended congratulations to new Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on assuming their respective offices.
The PTI chief expressed the hope that the new military leadership will work to end the prevailing trust deficit that has built up during the last eight months between the nation and the State.
The former prime minister maintained that the strength of the State is derived from its people.
Without wasting any time, Maryam Nawaz responded by blasting the PTI chief for asking the military leadership for interference.
The PML-N leader reminded Imran Khan that he has a selective memory. “You have a selective memory but people don’t. You colluded with certain elements of the establishment and they raised and fed you like their godson.”
Maryam further said “Now you beg for their unconstitutional interference and when it is denied you call them traitors. You have the audacity to talk about trust deficit? You think people are fools?
