A case of Mpox was reported from Lakki Marwat area of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday

Advisor on Health of KPK govt Ehtesham Ali said that the new virus was found in a 35-year-old who is a resident of Union Council of Kot Kashmir.

World Health Organization (WHO) already declared Mpox as Emergency of International Concern.

Sources said that the patient was arrived from Dubai via PIA Flight No. PK-294 and was immediately shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital KPK for medical check-up.

Ehtesham Ali said that Mpox patient was arrived in Peshawar on November 28, 2024 at 9.30 p.m.

He said that all necessary samples were later forwarded to Public Health Reference Laboratory. He said that the patient was working in UAE as driver from last five months.

He said that a Survelliance Officer of Rapid Response Team Dr. Musawar detected Mpox virus in the patents. He said that patient is advised to keep himself in isolation and adopt all precautionary measures to prevent Mpox.
