The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) plans to hold public gatherings in 150 districts of the country simultaneously on the occasion of the party’s 57th founding day (Yom-e-Tasees) today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Preparations are complete for the party’s public meeting at Larkana’s Municipal Stadium as the stage has been set and chairs have been placed at the venue. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the gathering via a video link.
A giant screen has been installed in the stadium for the purpose.
PPP to hold public gathering at Multan
Meanwhile, preparations are in the final stages for the PPP’s rally to be held in Multan in connection with the party’s founding day.
Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider will be the chief guest at the event to be held at Domra Farm House.
PPP chairman, in his address, is expected to make some important announcements.
Felicitating the PPP workers and supporters on the occasion, Bilawal has said that the day reflects the party’s unwavering commitment to democracy, social justice and the people’s empowerment spreading over 57 years. “On this day, I pay homage to the late prime minister and the party’s founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s vision,” the PPP chairman said, and added, “He had founded the party so that a society based on principles of equality, human rights and economic prosperity could come into being.”
On this occasion, he went on to say, he also saluted the late prime minister Benazir Bhutto for her services and sacrifices for democracy.
