The circumstances surrounding the death of former DIG Investigation Lahore, Shariq Jamal Khan, have once again taken a turn as the victim's family now declares his death a murder, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a fresh development, the Nishtar Colony police acted on the request of Hania Shariq, daughter of Shariq Khan, and registered a case under the provisions of murder.

The case names seven accused, including a woman, Qaratul Ain, as prime suspects, along with Mansoor Elahi, Samiullah Niazi, Shoaib, Imran Javed Butt, Adeel, and Sagheer.

The plaintiff alleged that DIG Shariq Jamal Khan was deliberately poisoned as part of a sinister plan, and he pointed to his reception of death threats as evidence, backed by mobile messages.

According to FIR, the victim reportedly shared various details with his family members before his tragic demise on July 21.

 According to the plaintiff's case, he disclosed the presence of one million US dollars, 5 lakhs rupees, and significant business-related documents stored in a safe. Shariq Jamal Khan had also invested in property and the fuel business.

The FIR revealed, following the murder, the safe was found open, and local and foreign currency, along with crucial documents, had mysteriously disappeared.

The mysterious death of Shariq Jamal Khan was initially reported at 12:30 pm.

The FIR further alleged that the main accused, Qurat-ul-Ain, orchestrated the crime with the aid of accomplices and attempted to stage the murder as an accident.

 

The petitioner also contended that the accused wield considerable influence, affecting the police investigation, and implores for their swift arrest and the swift delivery of justice.
