Dengue continues to claim people’s lives in Rawalpindi as two more people died in the city in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll from the disease during the ongoing season to 15, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources in the health department told 24News TV channel that Nadia Noreen, a resident of Taxila, died at the Holy Family Hospital while 28-year-old policeman Khawar Ali, who was admitted at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, also lost his life to the disease.
On the other hand, to make matters worse, 141 people were diagnosed with dengue across the Rawalpindi district during the last 24 hours, while 4,427 people have tested positive for the disease this season so far.
Sources disclosed that 270 patients of the disease were presently admitted at the Allied Hospital.
Similarly, 5077 FIRs have been registered against people over the violation of the SOPs devised to prevent the spread of the disease, while 1795 buildings where the dengue larva was found were sealed while 3,226 persons were challaned.
