Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said on Thursday that the declaration of Ahmedis as non-Muslims was late Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi’s greatest achievement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a function held in Saudi Arabia in connection with the 40th death anniversary of Chaudhry Zahoor via a video link, he said he and other Pakistanis had great respect for the love King Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Prince Shah Salman had for Pakistan. “Prince Salman during his visit to Pakistan had said that he was Pakistan’s ambassador in the outside world,” he recalled.
PA speaker further said that late Chaudhry Zahoor had never compromised on principles as well as public service. “All his life he struggled for the rights of masses,” he said, and added, “Our family is carrying forward his mission under the leadership of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.”
“Every year on the anniversary of Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi we pray to Allah (The Almighty) to show us the right path,” Chaudhry Pervez said.
He said even today people had love and respect for late Zahoor Elahi’s family.
In the end, he thanked organizer of the event in Saudi Arabia, Chaudhry Azhar Warraich and also those due to whose efforts similar fuctions were held in Spain, Germany, France and elsewhere.
