It appears that the prayers of Sindh police personnel have finally been answered as the provincial government has decided to bring their salaries, allowances and perks and privileges at par with the police personnel of other provinces, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this connection, a notification of the formation of a five-member committee, which will recommend increasing the salaries as well as the allowances being currently received by policemen; from the rank of a constable to assistant sub-inspector (ASI), was issued on Tuesday after the approval of the Sindh chief secretary.
The committee, to be headed by the additional chief secretary and consisting of IGP Sindh, secretary finance, secretary services and secretary law, will compare the salaries and allowances of the Sindh police personnel with those of their counterparts in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan before making recommendations to the provincial government.
The recommendations will take effect after the approval of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
