Unprecedented floods have also started hampering the supply of fuel to different parts of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Oil Tankers Association General Secretary Shoaib Ashraf said on Wednesday that tankers were stuck at a section of the National Highway between Mithyari and Kandyaro after it was inundated with floodwater. “And due to long queues of vehicles, the tankers which are supposed to reach their destinations in three days, now take six days,” he elaborated.
And if the same situation persisted, he expressed the fear, fuel supply to different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab might become more difficult in the next week.
He went on to add that the Motorway Police did not allow drivers to use section of the motorway between Dadu and Jamshoro.
The Association appealed to the authorities concerned to drain out water from the road so that the supply chain was not disturbed.
