The World Bank has given an assistance of more than 82 billion rupees for flood rehab while the United Nations has provided Pakistan with 35 billion rupees for the purpose, the figures released by the PPP stated on Tuesday.
The Asian Development Bank has given assistance of five and a half billion rupees for flood survivors, USAID Rs244.2 million, European Union 300 million rupees, and the UK 33.3 million rupees, the party added.
The United Nations, Turkey, Japan, and China have assured Pakistan of assistance in tents, medicines, support for reconstruction, and other matters as well.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the death toll reached 1162 on Tuesday with 36 more people died in the past 24 hours in floods across the country,
A total of 72 districts across the country are affected by rains and floods in which more than 3.3 million 46 thousand people were affected, NDMA reported. The total number of people who have been injured so far across the country has been recorded at 3554. During the last 24 hours, 19 people died in Punjab, 9 in KP while 5 people died in Balochistan, the NDMA added.
