Federal Commerce and Industry Minister Dr Gohar Ejaz Wednesday ordered the restoration of all inactive textile industries within a month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He issued directives during a meeting with the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA).
He demanded a list of all the inactive textile industries and directed to restore them till September 30. He said that the textile exports last year were worth $16billion and this year, they have to be at least $ 25 billion as there is potential and it is very doable.
Gohar Ejaz said that he would take all the industrialists and stakeholders of the industries in confidence talking to them personally. The pending funds of industries will be settled expeditiously by various departments including FBR and Customs and the challenges related to gas, electricity, energy and distribution of funds will be resolved effectively, said the minister.
