Pakistani cinema continues to make a significant impact on the global stage as Shoaib Sultan’s film 'Gunjal' has been selected for screening at the 12th Indian Cine Film Festival-24 in Mumbai.

The film, which will be showcased on September 15th, marks another major achievement for its creators.

Gunjal is a collaborative effort written by Nirmal Bano, Ali Kazmi, and Shoaib Sultan, and directed by Sultan himself.

The film’s selection for this festival underscores its international appeal and critical acclaim.

On April 30th, Shoaib Sultan received the Debut Director Award at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival in New Delhi, highlighting the film’s remarkable reception.

The cast of Gunjal includes Ahmed Ali Akbar, Resham, Amna Ilyas, Ahmed Ali Butt, and Omair Rana. Gunjal holds an impressive rating of 8.5 on IMDb, reflecting its strong critical reception.

The film’s plot focuses on the controversial acquittal of a man accused of murdering teenage activist Iqbal Masih. As journalist Shahbaz Bhatti investigates the case, he uncovers disturbing truths about child labor in 1990s Pakistan, revealing the deep flaws in the judicial verdict.
