Pakistan Democratic Movement Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that dialogue could only be held with the government after the prime minister resigned from his office and announced new elections in the country.
He was talking to the media after holding a meeting with PML-F leader Muhammad Ali Durrani on Thursday.
According to the details, both the leaders discussed the current political situation of the country during the important meeting. The meeting was held at JUI-F leader Riaz Durrani’s residence in Lahore. The meeting held day before PDM’s Lahore meeting.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he would consider Durrani’s proposals in the PDM meeting tomorrow. He said that no dialogue would be held with the incompetent and illegal government.
Durrani thanked Maulana Fazlur Rehman for holding a meeting with him. He said that he conveyed a special message of his party chief Pir Pagara to Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Track-II dialogue is need of the hour to avert any confrontation in the country, he added.
Durrani termed the meeting very useful. He said that it would open new avenues for dialogue. He said that new year would be the year of consensus. He said that all the opposition leaders would also play their role in strengthening the country. He said that arrests of political leaders would hammer the dialogue process.
On December 24, Durrani also met PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in jail. Durrani said that he had delivered a special message of his party chief Pir Pagara to PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, asking him to follow the “track-II dialogue”, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
