The federal government on Sunday increased the petroleum prices by Rs2.70 per litre, reported 24News TV.
According to notification issued by the finance ministry, the petrol price increased by Rs2.70 to Rs111.90 per litre. With the increase of Rs2.88 per litre, the new price of high speed diesel reached Rs116.07 per litre.
The price of kerosene oil has increased by Rs3.54 to Rs73.83 per litre. With the increase of Rs3 per litre, the new price of light diesel reached Rs70.86 per litre.
As per details, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) sent a summary to the government recommending an increase in the petroleum products, which the governed approved and issued a notification.
Prime Minister Imran Khan gave go-ahead to increase Rs3.2 per litre in the price of petrol two weeks ago. He okayed increase of Rs2.95 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) as well.
