Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stressed the need for concerted efforts to get rid of terrorism, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

Addressing the National Assembly, the defence minister called for a national consensus for launching an offensive-like operation like Zarb-e-Azb.

The war against terrorism has to be won at all costs, he said, adding that National Security Committee will decide on the operation against the terrorists as the committee is the competent forum to take such decisions.

He added that yesterday's Peshawar massacre was no less than the APS tragedy. "Massacre of people in the mosque neither happens in India nor in Israel," he said.

"We need to put our house in order," the federal minister said, adding that it is not the war of any sect or class but the whole nation.

"A successful war was fought against terrorism from 2010 to 2017," the federal minister said, adding that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government eliminated the terrorism.

However, he lashed out at the PTI regime over its stance on the matter.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah took swipe at the PTI over terrorism resurgence, saying that the country has been made to bear the brunt of the last government’s blatant mistakes.

The last government released the death row prisoners, he said adding that the policy of pardoning people of the banned organisation proved wrong, he added.

PM, Army Chief and IS DG will come to the House and brief the members about the Peshawar mosque massacre.

In his address, Noor Alam Khan lashed out at the government for what he called being ignored.

“My people were martyred. We are not given a chance.

“Everyone is bush with gossiping here. These people will not take this seriously until death occurs in Punjab.”

He said he has not been treated with dignity and he has been considering himself a second citizen.

He complained that he underwent unusual checking and get grilled while travelling.

All Pakhtuns love Pakistan. Tell us what the state policy is.  Afghanis are moving everywhere.

“He also complained that KP police have been deprived of due rights and dignity.

“.Our culture has been destroyed.”

He raised the demand for NSC to take up the matter of the mosque massacre yesterday.

The Peshawar Police Lines blast toll reached 100 and the tally of the wounded hits 221.

The attack was the deadliest in a decade to hit the restive city near the Afghan border and comes amid a surge in violence against law enforcement agencies. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the colossal blast.
