Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has opted out of the NA-214, Tharparkar race after a court ruling against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.  


Consequently, Shah Mahmood’s son, Mukhdoom Zain Qureshi will now represent PPTI in the constituency.


A special court in Islamabad has awarded 10-year imprisonment each to PTI founder chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan and party vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in cipher case, less than two weeks before the general elections


The court's decision marked a significant turn of events in the political landscape of Tharparkar, where Zain Qureshi will now carry the PTI banner forward in the upcoming elections.


Mukhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi's decision to step aside comes after careful consideration in light of the court ruling against him.
