Showing his willingness to talk to the country’s establishment, former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan on Tuesday asked the Pakistan Army to appoint its representative for the purpose, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reliable sources said that in an informal chat with journalists inside a courtroom set up at the Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, Imran said presently there was unannounced martial law in the country.
Responding to a question that while on one hand, he levelled allegations at the army, while on the other he wanted to talk to the institution, and why did not he talk to the politicians?, the former prime minister said he and other PTI leaders did not indulge in the blame game. “What we have done is only criticism of the establishment,” he clarified.
Imran said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also a ‘fascist’.
Recalling that Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq had declared legal how he was arrested from Islamabad’s judicial complex, he requested the judge to recuse himself from the cases involving him. “There are several other judges in the IHC who can hear cases related to me and the PTI.”
PTI’s founder also said if there was any party worker involved in the May 9 riots, he or she should be punished. He alleged that the sole objective of the government was to pit the PTI against the establishment to dismember the party.
