Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a series of telephonic conversations on Monday, exchanging Eidul Fitr greetings with the Presidents of Iran, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with each nation.
During his call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, PM Shehbaz extended warm wishes to the Iranian leadership and people, emphasizing the deep fraternal ties between the two neighboring countries. He highlighted the potential for enhanced trade and cooperation, particularly in addressing mutual challenges such as border security. Recalling their meetings in New York and Cairo last year, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to deepening its partnership with Iran across all sectors of mutual interest.
In a separate conversation with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, PM Shehbaz extended greetings to both the President and Turkmen National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, underscoring the warm and friendly relations between the two nations. He stressed the importance of maintaining high-level exchanges, citing President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Ashgabat in October last year. The prime minister renewed his invitation for Turkmen leaders to visit Pakistan, expressing hope that such engagements would further solidify ties.
Similarly, in his discussion with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, PM Shehbaz exchanged Eid greetings and reviewed the growing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, IT, connectivity, and agriculture. The prime minister welcomed the upcoming visit of a high-level Kazakh delegation to Pakistan in May and looked forward to hosting President Tokayev later this year, emphasizing that such exchanges would help unlock the full potential of Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations.
