A special flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) departed from Islamabad on Sunday carrying 206 passengers to New Jersey, United States, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The flights to the US are part of special operation being carried out by the national carrier as the federal government has already resumed and allowed the outbound international flights (scheduled, non-scheduled and charter flights) operation.
Earlier, on May 30 the Pakistan government had allowed to further enhance domestic flights operation from previous 20-22 percent to 40-45 perecnt.
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) said, “Decision has been taken due to growing business & public demand for air travel and smart lockdown being observed by the federal & provincial govts. Also this decision is the outcome of people confidence due to best possible health precautions being adopted both at Airports.”
The enhanced operation shall start from 1st June onwards and shall cover Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta, PCAA added.
