The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sunday rejected the allegations of the ruling PTI ticket holder Jamshed Cheema and his wife Musarat Jamsheed Cheema for cancelling their nomination papers in NA-133.
The Lahore District Election Commissioner clarified that both the proposer Bilal Hussain and seconder Murtaza of the PTI candidate were not included in the voters' list of constituency NA-133.
The commissioner said that the names of both the proposer and seconder of Jamshed Cheema were included in the voters' list of NA-130 so the reason for rejecting his nomination papers.
He further said that the proposer Ghulam Hussain of PTI’s covering candidate and wife of Jamshed Cheema, Musarat Jamshed Cheema was also enrolled as a voter in NA-130.
The District Commissioner also publicized the voters' list of NA-130 in which the names of Cheema’s proposers and seconders were placed. He also claimed that the names of proposers and seconders were included in the voters' list of NA-130 issued before the general elections in 2018.
He further said that the names of proposers and seconders have also been placed in the new voters' list of NA-130 following their previous status. So, he said the allegations of the ruling party candidate were baseless and false.
