Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf Monday lauded the services of Inzamam ul Haq and assured that he was available for Inzamam whenever he would like to meet.
In a telephonic conversation with the 24NewsHD TV channel, he said he said that Inzamam took the decision of resignation on his own without discussing it with him.
Zaka said that he was not present at the office at the particular moment when he came to see him.
Ashraf said he did not meet Inzamam prior to his resignation and that he set up a meeting with him to seek clarification on the ongoing controversy.
In response to the allegations, the PCB chairman said that the board has formed a committee tasked with conducting an inquiry into the conflict of interest allegations.
The committee's composition will include members specializing in security and vigilance to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the matter.
To another query, he said that the PCB has extended contracts to players for a duration of three years, acting in good faith. He added that the contract has not yet been signed by the players.
He expressed hope that payments will be made to the players as soon as the contracts are signed.
