The preparations for the repatriation of illegal Afghan residents in Punjab Monday entered their stages as the deadline nears, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The concerned departments along with the law enforcing authorities are scanning the people and mapping the illegally residing Afghans in various areas across the province. The process is reported to be reaching its completion.
The Illegal residents are being asked to leave the country by themselves till October 31. The documents of the residents are being inspected thoroughly.
The Police in the federal capital have started making announcements in the mosques regarding the repatriation of the illegal residents.
Holding areas and temporary camps have been set up in various districts for the arrested illegal residents and the camps have been equipped with ample facilities for residence, food, medical aid, and security. The camps have separate residences for men and women.
Each of the camps has a registration desk for the illegal residents where a special software developed by NADRA linked to the border management system will be used for documentation.
It has been declared that strict legal action will be taken against Pakistani citizens doing business with or providing shelter to the illegal foreigners.
Other necessary steps have been taken to move the illegal residents from camps to border crossing points.
