As part of its right-sizing policy, the federal government has eliminated 456 officer positions across various ministries, divisions, and departments from Grade 17 to Grade 22, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Thursday.
According to the documents obtained by the channel, this decision follows the federal cabinet's August 27, 2024, directive aimed at reducing administrative costs by downsizing the federal structure.
This initiative resulted in the termination of two positions at Grade 22, 22 positions at Grade 20, 69 at Grade 19, 93 at Grade 18, and 270 at Grade 17.
As per the documents, federal ministries and divisions have informed the Establishment Division of their compliance with the federal cabinet’s decision.
Previously, on October 2, 2024, 24NewsHD reported that the government had decided to end the services of daily wage employees as part of this policy.
An official notification from the Establishment Division stated that these employees would be moved to the surplus pool, effective September 30, 2024, and that their services would no longer be required.
Other ministries and divisions will independently determine the status of their daily wage staff.
