Police shut down several bank branches in Islamabad for violating security SOPs

Federal police have sealed several bank branches in Islamabad for non-compliance and violation of security SOPs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.


According to the SOPs, there is a ban on the posting of guards above 50 years of age and every bank must have three guards.


Many banks have deployed less than three guards who are also 50 years of age.


According to sources, the police immediately ordered to follow the SOPs otherwise action will also be taken against the bank management for violation.


It may be mentioned here that this police action was prompted by a number of attempted dacoities against banks and their cash vans in recent days.


Bank robbery cases registered


Three cases out of four incidents of bank robberies have been registered in different police stations of Islamabad.


According to report, four incidents of bank robberies occurred yesterday. The cases of three incidents were registered separately in Karachi Company Police Station, Sambhal Police Station and I Nine Police Station.


The case registered in Islamabad Sector G-9-4 includes serious provisions including murder and attempted murder.


According to the text of the case, one person was killed and three were injured in the firing of a motorcycle-riding dacoit in Sector G-9-4 and the accused escaped with a bag full of notes.


In the case of Sector G-4-10 bank robbery, provisions of attempted murder is included.


In the text of the case, it was stated that the robber had looted more than Rs1.8 million from the bank.


On the other hand, two days ago, a bank robbery case was registered in the limits of the I-9 police station.


According to the case text, during the cash bank transfer, the armed person tried to rob the money while the bank guard was injured due to the firing of the armed person.
