The United States has once again made it crystal clear that it has nothing to do with the removal from office of former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Addressing his daily news briefing in Washington on Wednesday, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller declared all such allegations as false.
Miller said that there is no truth in claims that Imran Khan could be released if Donald Trump is elected as the new president. Legal proceedings against Imran Khan is the matter for the Pakistani courts to decide, he added.
Replying to a question regarding PTI leaders Latif Khosa’s claim that US diplomat Donald Lu was involved in a conspiracy to remove Imran Khan from prime minister office, Matthew Miller said that it is not true, rather it’s false.
“The allegations that the US played any role in his removal from office are false. We’ve gone over that many number of times from this podium,” Miller said.
He said that Pakistani politics are a matter for the Pakistani people to decide in accordance with their laws and constitution.
