Sialkot Airport runway to close for 13 days for repair

110 international flights to be affected

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the closure of Sialkot International Airport's runway for 13 days to facilitate maintenance work next month.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, this decision was communicated to both domestic and international airlines through a Notice to Airmen (Notum).
According to the Notum communicated to both domestic and international airlines, Sialkot Airport will remain closed from May 6 to May 18.
Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for information regarding flight schedules during this temporary closure.
Sources have revealed that discussions are underway among domestic and international airlines to potentially redirect flights bound for Sialkot to operate from Lahore Airport during this period of maintenance.
As per the airport management, monthly 59 direct flights connect Sialkot to the world and during the closure of the airport for 13 days in May, more than 110 international flights will not be operated.

The runway at Sialkot International Airport spans 3600 meters in length and is 45 meters wide. Additionally, it features flexible 7.5-meter-wide shoulders on both sides and graded strips measuring 45 meters wide each. This runway is designed with an LCN (Load Classification Number) of 92, making it capable of accommodating aircraft such as the B-747-200, B-747-400, and B-777.
