Two women and a child were among four Pakistanis injured in the unprovoked firing by Indian troops across the Line of Control (LoC) in Lepa Valley on Tuesday, says Pakistan Army’s media wing.

The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release issued from Rawalpindi: "Indian troops resorted to unprovoked fire using heavy weapons, including mortars, along the LoC in Lepa Valley and deliberately targeted the civilian population. Four innocent citizens, including two women and a child, were injured," it said.

In recent days, unprovoked shelling by Indian troops has been a routine. In Indian firing in Satwal Sector along the LoC a few days ago, a man was injured seriously. The injured man was identified as Muhammad Safeer, 45, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson.

In January, a woman was injured in unprovoked shelling by the Indian border forces in Azad Kashmir. ISPR said in a statement that India deliberately targeted the civilian population in Chirikot Sector. "A 21-year-old woman, resident of Serian Village, sustained serious injuries and was evacuated to a nearby medical facility," said a statement issued by the ISPR.
