Pakistan will stage its first digital Fashion Week on June 5, as the luxury fashion sector struggles to rebound from the coronavirus crisis.
The Catwalk Care Virtual Fashion Week, which was originally scheduled to take place during Eid, will now be streamed live from June 5 through June 7.
The brainchild of PR mogul Freiha Altaf, the event was suspended because of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash which took the lives of 98 passengers.
“We were all prepared to proudly present Pakistan’s first-ever virtual fashion week when the tragic air-jet disaster occurred. I felt there was no alternative but to postpone the event to pay respect to all those passengers and crew who tragically lost their lives that day, including one of the brightest and promising supermodels, Zara Abid,” said Altaf.
The first day of the show will feature designs from Amir Adnan, Huma Adnan, Khaadi, Maheen Karim, Nida Azwer and Shamaeel Ansari. Whereas the remaining days will see Ali Xeeshan, Nomi Ansari, Asim Jofa, Sonya Battla, Sana Safinaz, Hussain Rehar and Asadul Haq.
