Cricket world in shock over sudden death of Shane Warne

The shocking news of the sudden death of the Australian spin wizard Shane Warne in Thailand has shocked the cricketers, fans and people from different walks of life. As soon as his death news got viral on media, many big names from his community started to pay homage and extend condolences over the death of the leg-spinner that inspired the whole generation.

Skipper of Pakistan national cricket team Babar Azam was shocked with the sudden death of iconic Australian cricket and tweeted: “Find it hard to believe. He said: “Such a devastating loss for the cricket world.”

Babar added that “He literally inspired generations with his magical leg spin. You'll forever be missed #ShaneWarne. My heart and prayers goes to his family, friends, and fans. #legend”.

Pakistan former fast bowler Shoaib Akthar, who is widely dubbed as “Rawalpindi Express” was shocked with the news and said: “Just heard the devastating news about legendary Shane Warne passing away”.

Akthar added that “No words to describe how shocked & sad I am. What a legend. What a man. What a cricketer”.

Legspinner Yasir Shah who had the opportunity in the past to learn many tips and tricks from the legendary Warne, also seemed to be speechless. As he said: “Sad day for Cricket.” Yasir said that “An iconic cricket player & mentor has left us.”

He said that “Deeply saddened by this news. Yasir further said that “My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans all around the world.”

Shahid Afridi, who is widely dubbed as “Boom Boom Afridi” labelled Warne “the university of leg-spin”. He said: “The game of cricket has lost what I consider a university of leg-spin bowling today. I was inspired by his bowling from the start of my career and it was always a privilege to play against him.”

Afridi added “My deepest condolences are with Warne's family and loved ones. #ShaneWarne”.

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar paid homage to Warne, as he tweeted: “Shocked, stunned & miserable. Will miss you Warnie.

Tendulkar tweeted: “There was never a dull moment with you around, on or off the field.”

Tendulkar said: “Will always treasure our on field duels & off field banter. You always had a special place for India & Indians had a special place for you. Gone too young!”
