Actor Fawad Khan in a recent interview said speaking pure Punjabi for his upcoming movie “Maula Jutt” was a daunting task for him.

Fawad said speaking Punjabi was the most difficult phase of shooting as Hamza Ali Abbasi was the expert in Punjabi speaking. He added that it was the film’s writer Nasir Adeeb who helped him with the correct pronunciations and Punjabi dialect. Fawad said that Abbasi was completely fluent in the Punjabi language.

Fawad had to work a lot to overcome the pure Punjabi accent. He said that he has not seen the original Maula Jatt completely as it was difficult for him to understand.

Fawad khan received several awards including a Filmfare Award, six Hum Awards and three Lux Style Awards. He started his career in Pakistani drama industry by playing Dastaan in 2010, for which he received the Best Male Actor Award at the Pakistan Media Awards.

Khan played a lead role in Pakistani television serial Humsafar in 2011.
