Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi has said Prime Minister Imran Khan will succeed in getting a vote of confidence.

The PML-Q is an ally of Imran Khan’s PTI, and the party lawmakers will second the premier, he said while speaking at a dinner hosted in honour of Punjab senators on Friday.

Punjab has set an example by holding the election for Upper House of the Parliament befittingly, he added. Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, minister and key figures attended the event.

Ali Haider Zaidi calls on Parvez Elahi

Federal Minister Ali Haider Zaidi called upon Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez and took up PM’s  Khan’s vote of confidence, the unopposed election of a senator in Punjab and the situation in the wake of the Senate vote came also came under discussion during the meeting. Provincial minister Yawar Bukhari and Hamid Zaman were also present.

Reposing trust in PM Imran Khan, he said: “We are fully supporting the government as an ally.” The provincial assembly speaker reiterated his resolve to continue with a joint effort to bring in betterment.
