Trade deficit exceeds Rs11.66b during first quarter of fiscal year

The trade deficit for the first quarter of the current fiscal year exceeded Rs.11.66 billion.

The trade deficit for the first quarter of last year was Rs.5.81 billion. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics recorded a 27% increase in exports in the first three months of the financial year.

The volume of exports for the first three months of the year was 6.96 billion, and imports of the statistics department increased by 65%.

According to Pakistan Bureau Statistics, the monthly import bill reached Rs.18.63 billion.
