A local court in Karachi has granted bail to Natasha, the accused in the Karsaz incident, ordering her to submit a surety bond of one lakh rupees on Friday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a settlement was reached where over Rs 55 million were paid as diyat (compensation) to the family of deceased persons Arif and his daughter Aamna. Additionally, a relative of Aamna will be offered a job in a company associated with Natasha.

As per the channel report, a separate compensation of a large amount was also provided to those injured in the incident, with mutual agreement among all parties.

The family of the deceased, Aamna, submitted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in the court, stating that the settlement was reached voluntarily and without any external pressure, solely for the sake of Allah’s pleasure. The court reminded the parties that they would be accountable to Allah if any facts were concealed from the court.

Taher Iqbal Malik, the lawyer representing the deceased’s family, mentioned that the affidavit was signed three days ago, confirming the terms of the settlement. Meanwhile, Natasha’s lawyer, Aamir Mansoor, stated that he did not know the specifics of the compensation.

In a separate matter, Natasha's bail application in a narcotics case was also heard in the court of Judicial Magistrate East. After hearing the arguments, the court reserved its decision, which will be announced on September 9.

The sources said that the payment of a large amount was made via a pay order. Additionally, Aamna’s relatives will be given employment by the company.

The sources further stated that the injured persons have also received a good amount of diya, and a settlement has been reached with them separately. The sources also said that the diyat agreement between the parties was made considering Shariah law.

Yesterday, Natasha Tariq’s lawyer, Aamir Mansoor, presented documents in court claiming that Natasha suffers from mental illness.

According to the documents, Natasha holds British citizenship and arrived in Karachi from London on August 2, 2024.

She also possesses a UK driving license, valid until 2031. However, under Pakistani law, foreign driving licenses are only valid for six months for driving in the country.

The documents further reveal that Natasha was first admitted to the psychiatric ward at Aga Khan Hospital on August 18, 2005, and was discharged three days later on August 21, 2005.

Since then, Natasha has undergone various treatments at the hospital over the years, highlighting her long-standing mental health issues.

These revelations are expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing legal proceedings, as her lawyer argues that Natasha's mental condition should be considered during the trial.

On August 23, 2024, a video revealed details of the Karsaz incident in Karachi, where a woman (Natasha Danish Iqbal), while driving recklessly, first collided with a white Corolla and a motorbike before speeding away.

The woman named Natasha, in her attempt to flee the scene, later struck a father and daughter riding a motorcycle further down the road, resulting in their tragic deaths.

Investigative sources said the woman driver's attempt to escape from the first accident led to the fatal second collision due to her excessive speed.

The woman initially collided with a white Corolla and a motorcycle, sending two riders tumbling to the ground. Rather than stopping, she sped away from the scene, only to cause a second, even more devastating accident further down the road. In her desperate attempt to flee, she struck another motorcycle, tragically killing a father and his young daughter on the spot.

Natasha Iqbal, the woman driver who had crushed a man and his daughter to death and had injured five others near Karsaz in Karachi on Monday (August 19, 2024), has turned out to be the head of nine companies.

Similarly, it has also been revealed that she is the chief executive of two companies, namely Metro Capital Limited and SDN Limited, and the director of seven others, namely Swift Storage and Services Limited, Gul Ahmad Bio Film Limited, Gul Ahmad CBNC Company, Metro Power Company Limited, Iqbal Metro Solar Power Limited, Metro Property Network Limited, and Metro Storage and Services Limited.

It merits mention here that efforts are being made to show that Natasha is mentally ill.

A court in Karachi sent Natasha Iqbal to jail on judicial remand on August 21.

Earlier, Natasha, who had been admitted to Jinnah Hospital after receiving a head injury in the accident, was discharged from the hospital. Dr Channi Lal, the hospital’s Psychiatrist Department head, said that the woman’s family had failed to prove that she was mentally handicapped. “She is completely mentally stable. And the chances of her committing suicide are slim,” the doctor told the media.
