The district and sessions court of Islamabad Tuesday rejected the post-arrest bail plea of Awami Muslim League (AML) head Sheikh Rashid, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court pronounced the reserved judgment on the bail plea of Sheikh Rashid.

The court said that Sheikh Rashid could submit a bail plea for signature on the nomination papers for elections in NA-60 and NA-62.

Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir pronounced the verdict.

Earlier, a district and sessions court in Islamabad on Tuesday sent Murree Police, which had arrived in the federal capital for seeking the transit remand of senior politician and Awami Muslim League (AML) President Sheikh Rasheed, back, asking the Force to first follow the proper procedure before asking for the remand.

Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir told the police party that first of all the application would be filed before the sessions judge and when the latter would mark him, he would hear the case.

It is pertinent to mention here that an application was filed at the Aabpara police station in Islamabad for the registration of a case against Rashid for making allegations against former president Asif Ali Zardari.

According to the petitioner, the AML chief claimed that Asif Ali Zardari had hired a “group of terrorists” to target PTI Chairman and former premier Imran Khan.

The plea stated that Sheikh Rashid’s accusations were part of a conspiracy and intended to create issues for Zardari and his family.

A day earlier, the Aapara police station summoned Shaikh Rashid to appear before the police but he did not.  The sleuths summoned repeatedly the AML chief to come to the police station and explain himself but he failed to reply.

They also warned the senior politician of legal action for defying the summons.
