Mohsin Naqvi orders strict action to control online sale and purchase of drugs

Federal Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi has sought a plan to control the online purchase and sale of drugs, reported 24News HD TV channel.
During the visit of ANF Headquarters in Islamabad, the Interior Minister ordered strict action against the drug mafia. Naqvi also directed ANF to develop a cyber drug control mechanism as the menace of drugs, especially ice, has destroyed many families.
He said multi-pronged measures must be adopted urgently to control the growing drug addiction.
Naqvi said for the sake of the children, everyone has to fight this scourge with full force and determination. He urged the nation to join hands to curb this menace.
Interior Minister on the occasion said that in order to save the new generation from the scourge of drugs, an effective crackdown should be started against the drug mafia.
He has also sought a comprehensive plan to stop the sale and purchase of drugs, especially ice, in and around universities and colleges premises and hostels.
Naqvi said that in this regard, the provinces will be consulted and taken into confidence. A joint meeting of federal and provincial departments should be held at the end of this month. Ministers of Excise and IGs of the provinces should also be invited to attend the meeting.
Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha and top officials of ANF were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi was welcomed by DGANF Major General Abdul Moeed. On the occasion, Naqvi offered dua at the Martyrs Memorial in ANF Headquarters and also placed flowers on the martyrs' memorial. Naqvi appreciated the performance of ANF for effective operations against the drug mafia across Pakistan despite the lack of resources and manpower.
At the end of his visit, the Narcotics Control Minister planted a sapling on the lawn of the ANF Headquarters.
