Pakistan Railways decides to privatize over 20 trains, including profitable ones

Pakistan Railways has decided to privatize more than 20 trains including some of its most profitable services such as the Green Line, Karakoram Express, and Pakistan Business Express.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the Pakistan Railways announced that Rs 25 billion will be generated after running these trains under the public-private partnership.

The channel said the decision to privatize these trains is aimed at alleviating administrative burdens and improving operational efficiency.

The list of trains set to be privatized under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) includes:

Karachi Express, Awam Express, Bolan Mail, Chenab Express, Meher Express, Saman Sarkar Express, Hazara Express, Thal Express, Sukkur Express, Mohenjo Daro Passenger, Marvi Express, Bahauddin Zakaria Express, Kohat Express, and Rawalpindi Passenger.

According to the TV channel, the Railway Commercial Department will soon issue tenders for outsourcing these services.
