The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a rape suspect at the Sialkot International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Aamir Abdullah was wanted by Islamabad police in connection with a rape case registered at the Margalla Police Station.

Despite being on the run, his name was included in the stop list, which enabled the authorities to prevent his escape.

The suspect was leaving the country for the Saudia Arab on flight number G9553 when the immigration officials offloaded him and handed him over to the police.

The suspect, a resident of Sialkot, was planning to evade legal proceedings by fleeing to Saudi Arabia.

As the case proceeds, Abdullah will be handed over to the Islamabad police for further investigation and trial.
