In view of the recent inflation, the federal government has taken decisive action to improve the livelihoods of employees by issuing a significant notification on minimum wages, reported the24NewsHD TV channel.

Effective from 1 July 2023, the new minimum monthly wages for federal employees have been fixed at Rs. 32,000.

All federal civil servants will be entitled to a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 32,000 starting from the aforementioned date.

Furthermore, employees currently earning less than this new minimum wage will receive a special allowance to bridge the gap.

The initiative, which has been implemented following the President's approval and the Ministry of Finance's endorsement, signified a critical step in addressing the financial hardships faced by employees in the wake of rising inflation.

The government has confirmed that additional expenses will be met from the budget allocated for the current financial year 2023-24.

No supplementary grant will be released for additional expenditure.
