Foreign Gifts to be displayed at Prime Minister House permanently

Setting a unique tradition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided that the foreign gifts received by Prime Minister will be kept permanently in the Prime Minister’s House (PMH), reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Wednesday.

According to the new policy, the gifts given by the foreign dignitaries and states to the Prime Minister of Pakistan will be shown to the public so that people are aware of the love of friendly countries for Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif surrendered the gifts worth over Rs350 million, which he received during his recent visits to the Gulf States.

The public will now be able to see the gifts received from foreign countries. These gifts will be kept at the designated place in the Prime Minister's House (PMH) for the public.

An area in the PM House has been declared the exhibition area with security cameras and glass cabinets with security features, where all these expensive gifts will be put on display in this enclosure for the visitors to the Prime Minister House.

In the first phase, five such cabinets, dedicated to each country namely Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, and China, will be prepared and all gift items from Prime Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia and UAE to be displayed at the Prime Minister’s House in secure Cabinets.

It is pertinent that the gifts received by Shahbaz Sharif include two jewel watch sets valuing approximately Rs270 million, more expensive to Imran Khan by the Gulf states. Mian Shahbaz Sharif deposited all the gifts of precious watches, pens, rings, 'cufflinks' (buttons), and perfumes in the Toshakhana.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also directed that these gifts be permanently displayed to the public in the PM House under special security measures.

Shehbaz Sharif has been depositing all the foreign gifts received during his ten years as Chief Minister of Punjab in the Toshakhana.
