Kite string slits little boy’s throat in Lahore

August 8, 2020 01:08 PM

A five-year-old boy, Asghar, died after his throat was slit by a glass-coated kite string in Malipura, Band Road area of Lahore on Saturday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A large contingent of police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area to arrest the kite-loving culprit whose fondness for flying kits despite the government’s strict ban has taken an innocent life.

Asghar was going on a motorbike with his father, Asif when the glass-coated kite string slit his throat at Bund Road. The little boy died while being shifted to hospital by the officials of the Rescue 1122.

The police, tasked by the provincial government to enforce the ban on kite flying, have miserably failed to implement the directives.

The police now only swing into action when a tragedy happens. The police do not prevent but only react to these tragedies.
