In an attempt to control the rising political temperature and the coronavirus spread, a proposal has been put forward, saying that smart lockdown should be imposed in all the streets and neighbourhoods where the infections are being reported.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, sources say this suggestion was sent by the district administration – Lahore Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik – to Punjab Health Secretary Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman.
Under this proposal, smart lockdown would be imposed in 56 more localities of the provincial capital. Five of these fall in Data Ganj Bakhsh Zone, four in Aziz Bhatti Zone and two in Shalimar Zone. Meanwhile, 27 others are in Samanabad Zone and 16 in Allama Iqbal Zone.
Interestingly, the move came just days before the planned PDM rally in Lahore on December 13.
