Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has welcomed the use of technology in courts and asked why technology is not being used in the cases against former prime minister and PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif.

Fawad said he believed, “The cases against Nawaz Sharif should be started immediately and Nawaz Sharif can join through a video link.”

Fawad said that an accountability court is going to charge former president Asif Ali Zardari through a video link on Monday (tomorrow).

The minister said, ”Tomorrow the accountability court is going to charge Asif Ali Zardari through video link. The use of technology in the courts is very welcome. The question is why technology is not being used in cases against Nawaz Sharif. The cases against him should be started immediately and Nawaz Sharif can join with a video link.”

It is pertinent to note that an accountability court on Friday dismissed the application seeking acquittal of former president Asif Ali Zardari in the Park Lane reference and decided to indict him on August 10.

Two former presidents of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) also turned approver against Mr Zardari in the Park Lane reference last month.
