Former cricketers give proposals to PCB chairman for improvement of cricket

Former cricketers had a long meeting with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi proposing to put domestic cricket on a strong footing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
During the meeting, former cricketers gave recommendations to improve the performance of the national cricket team.
The fitness of the players and the disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup were also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting agreed to improve the infrastructure of domestic cricket with conducting 4-day matches and U-19 tournaments.
Former cricketers proposed to hold cricket tournaments in winter season as well as summer season and recommended that there is dire need of setting up cricket academies in Islamabad, Peshawar and other cities.
Former cricketers expressed their reservations about the quality of Pakistani coaches and members of the selection committee with expressing concerns about the quality of Pakistani pitches.
Former cricketers appreciated the steps taken by Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi for the improvement of cricket and assured full cooperation in this regard.
Former cricketers said that you have shown it by working before and hope you will improve the cricket too.
Talking on the occasion Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi said that the consultation process will continue with you for the betterment of cricket and we will do whatever we can for the betterment of cricket.
Mohsin Naqvi assured that focus will be on 4-day matches and U-19 tournaments.
Agreeing with the recommendations from the former cricketers, Mohsin Naqvi said that there is a need to increase the quality of Pakistani coaches and to bring the quality of coaches to the international level, work has to be done on an urgent basis.
Chairman PCB said that plans have been made to hold the summer cricket season at Abbottabad or Hunza.
Commercialism has increased that's why departments are not interested in investing in cricket, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said that PCB is taking the grounds itself for the betterment of cricket.
Mohsin Naqvi said that steps will be taken to improve the quality of pitches and we will make cricket better from the grassroots level with everyone's consultation.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi noted all the suggestions and assured implementation of the feasible suggestions.
Among the cricketers who met with Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi include Intekhab Alam, Salim Altaf, Sikandar Bakht, Iqbal Qasim, Haroon Rasheed, Sadiq Muhammad, Shafiq Papa, Salim Yousuf, Yasir Hameed, Yasir Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ijaz Ahmed, Basit Ali, Wajahatullah Wasti, Asim Kamal, Muhammad Sami, Rashid Khan, Aamir Malik, Shafqat. Rana, Abdul Rauf, Salman Butt, Azhar Khan and Azhar Mehmood.
