One of the runways of Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, L-25, was closed for flights operation on Saturday for a week for cleaning purposes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the decision to close the runway was taken following the detection of a large amount of rubber particles on the runway.

“The runway will remain closed until June 7,” the CAA said.

The Authority informed that during this period, flights operation will continue on alternative runways.

The CAA has said it has issued the notification in this regard and informed all airlines of its decision.
