The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday ordered the federal government to pay Rs3 million in compensation to the father of the man from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who had gone missing 15 years ago, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing of the petition, seeking recovery of Haroon Muhammad, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb ordered the government to make the payment before the next hearing of the case.

The judge also directed the KP inspector general of police (IGP) to provide security to the plaintiff when the latter’s lawyer Imaan Mazari Advocate brought to his notice that her client’s family was receiving threats for pursuing the case.

The court also ordered registration of the case against the security personnel.

Additional Attorney General Munawar Iqbal Duggal appeared in the court.

Later the court adjourned the case’s hearing for two weeks.
