Federal Govt may bring 204pc increase in Ministry of Education’s development budget

Federal Government was expected to announce a mega raise in the development budget of the education sector during the federal budget 2024-25 due tomorrow, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, Rs25.75 billion development budget will be allocated for the Ministry of Education in the next financial year while in the current financial year, the development budget of the Ministry of Education stood at Rs8.5 billion.

The National Economic Council has approved the development budget of the Ministry of Education.

As the Federal government was planning to prioritise the education sector, therefore the government was expected to bring 204 percent increase in the development budget of the Ministry of Education.

While Rs5 billion has been allocated for Danish Schools in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. It was decided to allocate Rs2 billion for the National Endowment Fund in the new budget.
