Power tariff for industry goes down by Rs10.69 per unit

The government has announced a decrease in power tariff for the industrial sector.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the government decreased the electricity price by Rs10.69 per unit for the industry

The electricity price for the sector has been fixed at Rs Rs34.99 per unit.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) proposed the cut and the premier okayed to give a boost to the industry and the export.

The move is being dubbed as a historic package.

The tariff cut is expected to accelerate industrial growth, create job opportunities, and stimulate economic activity.

The package is set to alleviate the Rs200b burden from industries and aims to make the cost of goods competitive in the global market.

It will reduce the production costs of industrial and agricultural products, leading to a significant increase in exports.
