The K-Electric authorities on Friday cut off the electricity supply of Sindh Secretariat after declaring insolvent due to non-payment of electricity bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In Sindh Secretariat, Tughlaq House, New Sindh Secretariat, Building Number Six, Finance Secretariat, KDA Building, Old KDA Building and Barracks were cut off.

Due to the power cut of the Sindh Secretariat, the Chief Secretary and other officers did not come to the offices.

At nine o'clock in the morning, the employees of the Secretariat reached the offices, but due to unavailability of electricity and severe heat, the employees had to face severe problems outside the offices.

The administrative system of the Sindh government was down for several hours due to the power outage of the Sindh Secretariat.

However, after seven hours, the K-Electric authorities restored the power.

According to report, the issues between the Sindh government and K-Electric over billing have been hanging for many years, due to which cut off the electricity of the Secretariat has become a routine part of the process.
