The agreement, in this connection, was signed between Oxford University and the Government of Balochistan.

Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti witnessed the signing of a scholarship agreement between the Oxford Pakistan Program and the University of Oxford for students from Balochistan.

Sarfraz Bugti speaking on the occasion emphasized that the scholarship will not only bridge the educational gap but also promote higher education.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti is the first CM of Balochistan to address Oxford Lady Margaret Hall, while Benazir Bhutto is the only Muslim world leader whose portrait is displayed in the hall. 150 delegates including Malala Yousafzai, Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Aamir Ibrahim, Mohammad Khishgi, Farooq Sheikh, Prof Kamal Munir participated in the event.

The poor students of Balochistan will get education where most of the great personalities including martyred Benazir Bhutto got their education, said Sarfraz Bugti.

He continued it would connect the local needs of Balochistan with global educational standards.

He articulated how this initiative would not only addresses educational disparities but also would also enhance the linkage between local aspirations and global educational standards.

It is a fundamental commitment to the educational transformation and empowerment of Balochistan’s youth,” the CM outlined.

“Higher education plays a crucial role in strengthening democracy and social progress,”, he said adding that This scholarship will be a milestone in training future leaders from Balochistan.

“This is not just financial aid, but a means of empowering young people from Balochistan,” Bugti further elaborated.

The new scholarship program is expected to provide opportunities for talented Baloch students to pursue higher education at one of the world’s leading universities.
